Privacy Policy
What we collect when you use TrueTotal, why, who processes it, and how long it sticks around. Short version: we keep as little as possible and we do not sell your data.

- The report you upload is used to build your analysis and is not kept longer than needed to deliver it.
- We do not sell your personal information or the contents of your report.
This policy explains what TrueTotal collects, why, and what we do with it. It applies to gettruetotal.com and the tools on it. We have tried to keep it plain. If anything is unclear, email us and we will explain.
What we collect
- The valuation report you upload. To run the free gap-check, you upload the total-loss valuation PDF your insurer used. We read the numbers in it (vehicle details, comparables, and adjustments) to reconstruct the report's own math.
- Contact and claim details you enter for the paid package. If you buy the $49 dispute package, we collect the name, email, mailing address, and, if you provide it, the adjuster's name, so the counter-offer letter can be addressed correctly.
- Payment information. Card payments are handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.
- Basic technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider processes standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) to serve pages and guard against abuse.
How we use it
We use what you give us to do the thing you asked for: read your report, show you the flaws and the estimated gap, and, if you pay, build your dispute package and deliver it. We use your email to send your package and any support replies. We do not use your report or your contact details for advertising, and we do not sell them.
Who processes it
To run the analysis we rely on a few service providers, each handling only what it needs to:
- Our AI provider reads the uploaded report to transcribe its numbers so we can reconstruct the math. The document is processed to produce your result and is not used to train models on your data.
- A vehicle-listings provider is queried for current comparable listings near your ZIP code when you buy the package.
- Stripe processes payment.
- Our hosting and storage provider serves the site and briefly stores your order so it survives checkout.
These providers act on our instructions and are bound by their own terms and security commitments.
How long we keep it
We keep as little as we can, for as short as we can. An unpaid gap-check is stored only briefly so you can move to checkout, then it expires on its own. A paid order and the package we built for you are kept for a short window (about 30 days) so you can come back and reprint it, then it expires too. We do not keep a permanent library of your reports.
Your choices
You can use the free gap-check without an account. You can ask us to delete your order data before it expires on its own by emailing the address below. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold; email us and we will help.
Security
Traffic to the site is encrypted, payment runs through Stripe, and we limit how long we hold anything. No system is perfectly secure, so we hold only what we need and expire it quickly.
